Damnit! Damnit! Damnit! The pipes froze in the shop so now we get to sweep 4" of water out of a three room workshop. So mad! Stupid weather! Two tiny little pipes. Stupid pipes! Stupid me for not wrapping them! I live in East Texas damnit.... We aren't supposed to get this cold! Screw you Global Warming!

Sorry to hear about that. I hope you didn't get any water damage. Next time, if you don't want to bother protecting pipes, because it hardly ever get's that cold there, just let the water run at a slow dribble. This will keep them from freezing, it won't hurt anything, and doesn't require spending money or labor on something you only need once every ten or twenty years.
ReplyDeleteThe thing is... I know this stuff. I'm mainly mad at myself for not doing it. The pipes are an easy fix but the floor is a different matter. And then there is the Sheetrock.... I think just the bottom portion will have to be replaced and not the entire board. I'm just so thankful it was the workshop and not the house and thankful that the water cutoff for the shop is separate from the house as well. Sigh....lessons re-learned.
