Bill allows concealed weapons across state lines

(The Hill) Gun owners would be allowed to carry concealed weapons around the country under new legislation introduced in the Senate.

The Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act would allow gun owners who have a concealed carry permit in their home state to bring their firearms in any other state with concealed-carry laws.

“This operates more or less like a driver’s license,” Sen. John Cornyn (Texas), the second-ranking Republican in the upper chamber, told The Hill. “So, for example, if you have a driver’s license in Texas, you can drive in New York, in Utah and other places, subject to the laws of those states.”

  1. Hey Angela;

    I don't know about that one....I like the idea of universal CCW, but it says "subject to the laws of that state....I keep thinking that the anti state (in the northeast corridor) mostly will code some really vague crap in their laws then pile on the tourist that travel CCW through their state and get them anyway on some trumped up charges.
    Now here is the federalist part of me..we are using the fed leviathan to push through a law that the state doesn't want... on the other hand the 2nd amendment part of me is saying "shall not be infringed"...will be interesting to see how this plays out..

    1. Of course liberals will always find or create a loophole in every law to fit their own agenda. I wouldn't conceal carry to any of those states, no matter a law said I could because of that reason alone. Have to be smarter than the serpent. If you get yourself all caught up in legal issues, then you are "branded" and your credibility goes out the window. I prefer my credibility to remain intact so I can stand and fight another day. And I don't know why the blue shows up does it to me, too. A web designer, I am not. I'm still trying to figure out why every time I post a blog, it shows up 5 times on my facebook page...

  2. Hey Angela;

    I don't know why "the fed" is highlighted in blue ink...wasn't done by me....
