Fusion Centers...What You Need To Know

The map above shows the location of Fusion Centers here in America. Texas has three. One in Houston, one in McKinney and one in Austin. But what exactly is a "Fusion Center?" It is a domestic surveillance system that was established after the September 11, 2001 attacks and which collects and shares "intelligence" on a massive scale about "the everyday activities of law-abiding Americans, even in the absence of reasonable suspicion.

A report released in December of 2013 by the Brennan Center for Justice states,

“Until 9/11, police departments had limited authority to gather information on innocent activity, such as what people say in their houses of worship or at political meetings,” the report explains. “Police could only examine this type of First Amendment-protected activity if there was a direct link to a suspected crime. But the attacks of 9/11 led law enforcement to turn this rule on its head.”
At a time in our lives where we are all aware of the far over-reaching arm of the NSA spying, many Americans now understand that we are being watched. But these intelligence sharing hubs (fusion centers) that have been coordinated between the DHS and state and local police departments around the Nation, clearly show that there is a much more extensive surveillance of Americans going on than what we have already come to expect from the NSA.

In 2012, a Senate investigation found that fusion centers were costing taxpayers billions of dollars but had failed to disrupt even a single terrorist plot. The investigation also discovered that the intelligence gathered was "oftentimes shoddy" and "more often than not unrelated to terrorism" while "sometimes endangering citizens' civil liberties."

At the time of the Senate investigation, the Associated Press reported that fusion centers targeted the First Amendment activities of Americans by "circulating information about Ron Paul supporters, the ACLU, activists on both sides of the abortion issue, war protesters and advocates of gun rights." According to findings from the ACLU, fusion centers in Boston filed "scores of intelligence reports on anti-war activists." Yet they somehow missed the Boston Marathon bombing plot. Perhaps because that is not their true interest.

Fusion centers collect information from people doing everyday things such as photography, looking through binoculars and taking notes. Other activities collected by law enforcement and stored in fusion centers include:

  • Individuals who stay at bus or train stops for extended periods while buses and trains come and go.
  • Individuals who carry on long conversations on pay phones and cell phones.
  • Individuals who order food at a restaurant and leave before the food arrives or who order and then don't eat.
  • Joggers who stand and stretch for an extended period of time.
Janet Napolitano re-affirmed her support for the fusion center program in a March 11, 2009 speech to nearly 1,000 fusion center stakeholders from across the Nation at the National Fusion Center Conference in Kansas City. She said;

 "I believe that fusion centers will be the centerpiece of State, local, and Federal intelligence-sharing for the future and that the Department of Homeland Security will be working and aiming its programs to underlie fusion centers."
Today, the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice recognize 70 fusion centers, including ones in EVERY state and EVERY major city in the United States.

Rutherford Institute President, John Whitehead, wrote in his book, "A Government of Wolves: The Emerging American Police State", writes;

"Virtually every state has a 'fusion center' monitoring everything from Internet activity and web searches to text messages, phone calls and emails. This data is then fed to government agencies, which are now interconnected: the CIA to the FBI, the FBI to local police. Too often, the partnership between law enforcement officials and fusion centers gives rise to procedures lacking in transparency and which skate alarmingly close to the edge of constitutional prohibitions against unreasonable searches, when they are not flouting them altogether. Equally problematic is the fact that there is no nationally recognized structure for a fusion center, so each fusion center essentially establishes its own protocol, a shortcoming acknowledged by the Department of Homeland Security.”
"A Government of Wolves" recounts that some DHS personnel at fusion centers received fewer than five days of training in intelligence gathering. Despite the lack of training, personnel were being paid upwards of $80,000 a year.

In summary, these fusion centers are nothing more than octopus arms for the NSA. They are stretching their tentacles into our everyday lives, gathering any and all information to be stored in their massive warehouse in Utah. If you think we do not already live in a police state, think again. Look around, read reliable news and be informed. Police in Idaho stormed a house over credit card fraud while police in Florida commandeered a woman's home without her knowledge or approval in order to gain a tactical advantage of the house next door in which a SWAT team was trying to execute a warrant. After several hours, it was learned the house was empty and had been all along.

After Obama was elected, the DHS office of Intelligence and Analysis issued a report on "Right Wing Extremism" in 2009. The report claimed that individuals who use the terms "Patriot" or "Constitutionalist" and "link their beliefs to those commonly associated with the American Revolution" are a threat. The report also identified returning war veterans as "potential threats."

Here are some excerpts from the FBI bulletin;

“This … domestic terrorist movement, which, scattered across the United States, has existed for decades. … They do not represent an anarchist group, nor are they a militia. … They operate as individuals without established leadership and only come together in loosely affiliated groups to … socialize and talk about their ideology. They may refer to themselves as ‘constitutionalists.’ … Several indicators can help identify these individuals. References to the Bible, The Constitution of the United States, U.S. Supreme Court decisions, or treaties with foreign governments…”
Obama and his regime are pushing forward to full blown dictatorship. The things going on just under the surface should have every single American on alert. The media is doing a fine job of keeping everything quiet so that the masses have no idea what is going on until it is too late. Those throngs of adoring Obama supporters will be truly shocked when they find themselves locked up for God knows what. And they will be because once he has declared himself king, he will no longer have a use for them; their vote will no longer matter and most pay no taxes anyway.

Times are changing fast and if you aren't awake to what is going on and prepared to stand against tyranny, then I hold no sympathy in my heart for you. You deserve all that is coming and you deserve neither freedom or security. Through the ignorance of the left, we are forced to defend not only our Nation, but our individual liberty as well. Do not think that we will not strive to protect our families and those like us before we will ever step in to save a commie. You've made your bed, liberals, and you can wallow in it, but I will not be forced to lie in the mess you've made. You can have that all to yourself.
