Two Foreign Diplomats Robbed at Gunpoint in Mexico City

My question is why are diplomats from Qatar in Mexico? That’s where Obama released the Taliban 5 from Gitmo.

Despite the many claims by the Mexican government that crime has decreased, it continues to hold the country hostage. The latest victims are two diplomats from Qatar, who were robbed at gunpoint in Mexico City.

According to information released by the Mexico City Police Department, two diplomats from Qatar had gone to a local bank on Friday afternoon to withdraw roughly $4,000, and as they made their way back to one of the city’s exclusive hotels were held up at gunpoint by two gunmen riding motorcycles. The diplomats were not hurt during the robbery as the gunmen managed to make a clean getaway.

The armed robbery of two diplomats is the latest scandal to rock Mexico, a country that continues to slide into lawlessness, with various areas particularly along the northern border under the control of drug cartels.

The robbery took place on the same day that the U.S. Embassy in Mexico issued an alert warning tourists to avoid the beach resort town of Acapulco and the rural areas of the state of Guerrero due to a series of protests and riots throughout the area. Where the country’s citizens voiced their outrage on the massacre where 43 students were executed and burned at the hands of cartel gunmen and police officers.

The massacre of the 43 students from Ayotzinapa has turned into the biggest problem for Mexican president Enrique Pena Nieto, as scholars, international journalists and the public in general have begun to call for his resignation.
