In an apparent effort to mock the Republican “witch hunt” and demonization of one Internal Revenue Service official, one Democratic congressman asked if she was a practitioner of black magic.

“Have you been consorting with the devil?” Rep. Gerald Connolly (D-Va.) asked Sarah Hall Ingram during a hearing Wednesday.

“Not to my knowledge, sir,” replied Ingram, who once headed the division that singled out conservative groups for extra scrutiny in their applications for tax-exempt status, and is now in charge of implementing a large part of Obamacare.

“Are reports that you can fly accurate?” Connolly pressed.

“Greatly exaggerated, sir,” Ingram said.

“Have you been involved in any way in trying to pervert our youth in Salem or anywhere else?” Connolly asked.

“I’d certainly hope not, sir,” Ingram said.
