Obama Is NOT God

I really enjoyed watching Glenn Beck yesterday as he excoriated the left about how Obama is not God and he is not the prophet mohammed. He even apologized to the left for actually thinking they cared about God in any way. But I have to say, I get more than a little irritated when I see those who are on our side calling him the names that the left so adores. I know it is done in sarcasm, but it still bothers me.

Like when Sean Hannity calls him the "anointed one". There is only ONE anointed one and that is Jesus Christ. Or when someone says "bless his holy name", and the list goes on and on. Look, I get that it is done in jest and is dripping with sarcasm. I just cringe every time I read it because calling someone these names, even in jest, seems sacrilegious to me. It cheapens what God has done for each of us. You know, giving His only begotten son to die on the cross so that we can be forgiven of our sins and live eternally? Christ means Christos in the Greek, which literally means, the anointed one, the Messiah, the Son of God. Our savior.

But the left takes these things seriously. They truly do believe he is the one come to save them all. Even the little boy in the viral video praying to Obama, saying that God gave him special powers. It is all just so disgusting. There are only 3 things that I get very passionate about. The first is God. The second is my family and the third is my country/politics. In exactly that order. I put God above all else, as it should be. Would I be called a fanatic? Maybe, I don't know nor do I care because quite frankly, we should all start being a little more fanatic about serving God. Don't get me wrong, I sin just as much as the next guy. But I know that when I am truly sorry I am forgiven. I have felt like Paul on many an occasion when he said in Romans 7:18

For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
Basically, Paul is saying that he sets out to do good, but seems to mess up somewhere along the way every time. This is how I feel more often than not. But I know God loves me. I know He forgives me and I hope that on occasion, I make Him glad that He created me. I know it seems the majority of the world hates Him, but for the sake of a few, He is willing to spare His wrath... for a time anyway. But make no mistake, that cup of wrath is coming and it is going to be dumped. God is a consuming fire that warms the hearts of those who love Him and completely devours those who don't.
There is a big difference in warming yourself by the fire on a cold night and jumping right in to said fire to roast on the spit. I prefer warming myself, but we are all free to choose.

Who are those who are included in salvation? All men who believe and obey what the apostle Peter preached on the Day of Pentecost are saved. It does not make any difference what denominational name is written on the church building where you worship, if you obey the gospel preached by Peter, then, you are saved, you are a member of the Lord's church, you are part of the church of Christ, you a member of the body of Christ, you are a Christian.

    What did Peter preach?
    1. Peter preached that Jesus was a miracle worker. (Acts 2:22)
    2. Peter preached that Jesus was resurrected from the dead by God the Father.(Acts 2:24-35)
    3. Peter preached that Jesus was both Lord and Christ.(Acts 2:36)
When the three thousand believe Peter, they asked "What shall we do?"(Acts 2:37)
    4. Peter told them to repent and be baptized in order to have their sins forgiven.(Acts 2:38)

This is the same message Jesus preached. (Mark 16:16 "He who believes and is baptized will be saved....)

    THE TERMS FOR PARDON ARE: Faith-John 3:16, Repentance-Acts 2:38, Confession-Romans 10:9-10, Baptism (immersion in water) 1 Peter 3:21

All who meet the terms for pardon are saved regardless of the denominational name on the church building.
