The Dallas law firm representing a high-profile State Department whistle blower has been robbed. But the thieves didn't take the silver bars or other valuables. Instead they took computer hard drives and files.
“It’s a crazy, strange and suspicious situation,” lawyer Cary Schulman of the firm Schulman & Mathias told The Cable. “It’s clear to me that it was somebody looking for information and not money. My most high-profile case right now is the Aurelia Fedenisn case, and I can’t think of any other case where someone would go to these great lengths to get our information.”
Ms. Fedenisn is the former State Department Inspector General and is claiming that the agency covered up and called off several misconduct investigations. The following from CBS News:
CBS News' John Miller reports that according to an internal State Department Inspector General's memo, several recent investigations were influenced, manipulated, or simply called off. The memo obtained by CBS News cited eight specific examples. Among them: allegations that a State Department security official in Beirut "engaged in sexual assaults" on foreign nationals hired as embassy guards and the charge and that members of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's security detail "engaged prostitutes while on official trips in foreign countries" -- a problem the report says was "endemic."
The memo also reveals details about an "underground drug ring" was operating near the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad and supplied State Department security contractors with drugs.
Aurelia Fedenisn, a former investigator with the State Department's internal watchdog agency, the Inspector General, told Miller, "We also uncovered several allegations of criminal wrongdoing in cases, some of which never became cases."
In such cases, DSS agents told the Inspector General's investigators that senior State Department officials told them to back off, a charge that Fedenisn says is "very" upsetting.
"We were very upset. We expect to see influence, but the degree to which that influence existed and how high up it went, was very disturbing," she said.
Of course the State Department is denying any involvement. Isn't that the mantra these days for this administration? Just say you don't know and eventually people will have no choice but to move on to something else. The attorney, Cary Schulman, is saying that the break-in wasn't professional enough to be from this administration. Has he actually been paying attention to this administration? They are the most inept and unprofessional group of individuals I have ever had the displeasure of seeing. These thieves are no doubt two low life Obama supporters who have been paid some crack money to get the files. I hope they are caught and I hope they turn on the ones who paid them to do it. I am so sick and tired of this administration and all those who support him.
Never in my life have I felt more like it was an us against them type situation with our government then I do now. Obama has pitted the haves against the have nots and there is hatred and anger brewing from both sides. I am a have not as far as money goes, but I am very blessed in many other ways. I don't hate someone for having done well in life. I am happy for them and I do not feel as though it is their responsibility to support everyone else. I am not happy about politicians getting wealthy off the back of the taxpayer. They haven't earned it, they have just taken it. Big difference. It's time to take out the trash people. It has been rotting for quite some time.
