'Blood Moons' author responds to Hagee's 'I discovered' claim

Blood Moons” author Mark Biltz says the rare convergence of solar and lunar eclipses, biblical feast days and the ongoing attempts by President Obama to divide the land of Israel bring a strong likelihood of war breaking out in the Middle East and judgment falling upon nations.

Biltz, pastor of El Shaddai Ministries in Bonney Lake, Washington, appeared on Coast to Coast AM with George Noory Thursday night. He briefly commented about a dispute that surfaced this week over who originated the blood moons research, showing a rare tetrad of four lunar eclipses over an 18-month period, all falling on biblical feast days such as Tabernacles and Passover.

In fall of 2013 Dallas mega-church pastor John Hagee wrote his own book, “Four Blood Moons,” about the celestial phenomenon and is coming out with a new movie Monday by the same title. In the movie, Hagee claims to have “discovered” the rare pattern of blood moons, even though Biltz had been teaching and writing on the subject since 2008.

WND, publisher of Biltz’s book, “Blood Moons: Decoding the Imminent Heavenly Signs,” sent a demand letter this week to Hagee seeking a public retraction and re-edit of the movie, crediting Biltz with the discovery.

“The thing that compelled me to write the ‘Four Blood Moons’ was when I discovered the scientific fact NASA was pointing out that it happened in 1492 and it happened in 1948 and it happened in 1967 and it was going to happen in 2015,” Hagee said in the movie.

Noory asked Biltz about Hagee’s claim.

“I discovered it back in 2008 and have been writing about it ever since,” Biltz said.

“I think you’re in his movie, aren’t you?” Noory asked.

“Yes I am in his movie. I most certainly am. And to me the important thing is getting the message out because I want the whole world to wake up,” Biltz said.

WND’s reporting earlier this week showed video clips of Biltz discussing his discovery on Christian TV shows “Prophecy in the News” and “It’s Supernatural” with Sid Roth.

Noory asked what compelled Biltz to write his book in 2014.

“Well, I’ve always felt the passion to get it out. Back in 2008 I was getting it out for free, [continuing] for about five years. And then four other people were writing books on the material, and they were giving their own takes. And several people were saying ‘hey, Pastor Mark, you need to write a book and give your perspective because everyone else is taking it all these different directions. So I decided to go ahead and write the book with Joseph Farah, he made the movie. He really motivated me to get this done and get the word out. But I was excited to get this out all along, to as many people as I could, because a lot of people were misinterpreting what I was saying, so I wanted to make it clear.”

Biltz said today’s total solar eclipse, occurring on the first day of spring or the vernal equinox, is the first time those two events have intersected since 1662.

blood_moons“It’s a deep eclipse right smack dab in the middle of this tetrad of blood moons,” he said. “April 4 is the next total lunar eclipse or blood moon [visible on the West Coast for a little over 4 minutes on the Feast of Passover].”

Signs, signs and more signs

Biltz provided Noory with a mind-boggling array of converging astronomical signs coinciding with major world events.

A total lunar eclipse has happened once every year and a half over the past 5,000 years. But there are four in an 18-month period going back to last year. That alone would be significant for those who watch and search the heavens for clues about major shifts in world events.

But the fact that these “blood moons” also fall on the biblical feast days makes it even more significant, he said. That’s only happened eight times over the last 2,000 years, said Biltz, who examined NASA records to come up with the patterns.

“NASA has a record of 5,000 years of eclipses,” he said. “Both lunar and solar eclipses, so they can be totally predictable.”

Listen to George Noory’s full interview with “Blood Moons” author Mark Biltz:

A full lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth comes between the sun and the moon, and the sun’s rays reach around the Earth to illuminate the moon. The longer rays are the red rays, which make the moon appear blood red.

Noory asked about the “real significance” of a blood moon and solar eclipse.

“Well it’s fascinating and this is found in ancient texts over 2,000 years old,” Biltz said. “The Jewish sages said a total lunar eclipse means judgment is coming upon the nation of Israel. A total solar eclipse means judgment is coming upon the nations.

“The last time a total solar happened on the vernal equinox was about 350 years ago in 1662, but this particular one has never happened before in human history,” he said. “That one in 1662 was in the Southern Hemisphere. This is the first time in human history that you have a total solar eclipse which happens to be a super moon known as a dark moon because it’s at its closest point to earth. It’s at the North Pole during the spring equinox – that only happens once every 100,000 years.”

Noory: “It’s happening. What can we expect, Mark? In your opinion, what’s out there for us?”

“I think we’re entering a new era. It’s a new beginning. Because, this spring equinox is also beginning on the first day, Nisan 1, on the religious [Hebrew] calendar. That’s so significant. This is the day Moses’ tabernacle was erected. This is the day fire miraculously fell from heaven on the altar, it fell and killed Aaron’s two sons, Nadab and Abihu.

“And so it’s the beginning of the religious calendar. And it just so happens, also, this weekend in every synagogue around the world, they’re reading about the dedication of the temple. That also is something that doesn’t happen very often, to have the very reading happen on the very day the event happened along with the spring equinox and the solar eclipse, followed two weeks later on Passover with the total lunar eclipse, and this is happening right after the Israeli election.”

Noory: “Is this the end of the beginning, Mark, or the beginning of the end?”

“I think it’s the beginning of the end. It’s the beginning of a whole new era, spiritually. It’s an alignment that is like no other alignment with the heavens.”

Noory: “With the events in Israel, how does this tie in?”

“I think it’s interesting that Benjamin Netanyahu, on Purim, the very day that was declared the Jews were to be destroyed, he ‘broke protocol’ when he spoke to Congress about Iran (without an invitation from the White House),” Biltz said. “And then in the Book of Esther it’s all about Queen Esther and Mordecai breaking protocol (when she spoke to the King of Persia about the plot to destroy the Jews).”

Blood moons also occurred right after Israel’s 1948 War of Independence and at the 1967 Six Day War.

Biltz said the strange convergence of these many signs both in the heavens and the Earth cannot be ignored, but he hopes he is wrong and “nothing happens.” But he sees a “good chance” that war will break out in Israel and he sees economic collapse coming to America.

Noory: “Are these biblical signs?”

“Definitely. In Genesis 1:14 from the very beginning it says God created the sun and the moon to send signals. That’s literally what it says, anyone can go look. Most people think it was for light or heat, but it says he created them to send signals. And then it says on his feast days, which is like Passover and tabernacles. So we definitely have an extra-terrestrial trying to communicate to the world. It’s called the creator of the universe and he says he’s going to use the signs in the heavens to send signals, on his feast days, and that’s what’s happening.”

Noory: “Can anything be changed? Can prophecy be changed?”

“I think so. Most definitely. It depends on how people react. It’s totally based on our free will. What are we going to do? How are we going to react?

“In the Book of Joel, he talks about the sun turning dark and the moon to blood.

“Let me give the context of that,” Biltz said. “The context is, God will judge every nation that’s trying to divide the land of Israel. And look what’s happening even after the elections? The whole thing is this two-state solution dividing the land of Israel. And I believe as America is at the forefront of dividing the land of Israel, you’re going to see judgment falling on this nation.”

Biltz cited research by Bill Koenig, author of the book “Eye to Eye: Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel.”

“He has records and records of all the times America has come against Israel. For example, Hurricane Katrina hit within 24 hours of us trying to push Israel to evacuate the Gaza strip,” Biltz said.

Noory: “As a pastor, when you look at prophecy, does it concern you?”

“No not really. To some extent I guess it concerns me for people who are not necessarily ready,” he said. “A lot of things can happen, earthquakes, solar flares. I’m always concerned for people who are not ready, either physically or spiritually. I think they could be without food, I think everyone needs to be prepared to be without power for a couple of weeks. Also Iran, North Korea could launch this type of attack, which Iran just came out and said they were in favor of this kind of attack. If people aren’t prepared for an EMP attack they’re in a world of hurt.”

One caller called the show and asked about the widespread support for Israel in Congress and among the American people, compared to the hostility shown by the Obama administration.

“I think the vast majority of Americans support Israel even though this administration can’t stand them. I would hope God would understand from a spiritual standpoint and show us mercy,” Biltz said. “It’s hard when the president acts like an emperor and does what he wants to do. So we’re just going to have to see what happens. I hope the Congress will override whatever he decides to do, especially with this Iran deal.”
